Narcotics Unit Uncovers Marijuana Grow Operation During Search Warrant; One Arrested

On Thursday, March 8th, members of the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit served a search warrant at 4430 Sturkie Avenue in Port Charlotte. Upon entry of the residence, the occupant of the residence, Dwight Lee Nobles (4/8/54), was detained.

1801-015208_Pic_24.JPGThe search revealed 28 potted cannabis plants on the exterior of the property. Narcotic Detectives searched the detached garage located on the property and found four large Ziploc bags containing approximately 400 grams of cannabis. Narcotic Detectives searched the inside of the residence and located; a plastic baggie containing approximately 39 grams of cannabis seeds and a plastic baggie containing approximately 3 grams of cannabis inside of the kitchen freezer, a plastic baggie containing approximately 7 grams of cannabis inside a bedroom dresser drawer, and an orange and blue smoking pipe with a cannabis grinder on top of the same dresser.

Dwight Nobles

Dwight Nobles was cooperative and provided statements to the Detectives after his Miranda warnings were read. The total weight of the found cannabis was approximately 4.7 pounds.

Dwight Lee Nobles (4/8/54) was placed under arrest for Cultivation/ Manufacture of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Nobles was transported to the county jail.
