The investigation into the these deaths is continuing and the victims are now being identified as Mario Schiano (5/25/1976) and Anthony Galeotti (8/18/1979). Investigators are still at the scene along with personnel from the Forensics Unit processing and collecting evidence.
Investigators are working around the clock and are following every lead and tip received through the agency. As additional information becomes available, we will share that via our social media channels.

January 25, 2024 – Punta Gorda, FL
Two people are dead after an isolated shooting incident in the area of Trails End Dr. in Punta Gorda.
Just before 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 24, Charlotte County dispatchers received a call advising that two people had been shot and killed at a residence on Trails End Dr. in Punta Gorda. Deputies and detectives from the Major Case Unit immediately responded and secured the scene.
This is a very fluid and active investigation; however, it is determined to be an isolated incident and is specific to the residence. There is no danger to the public.
