Litany of Drug Charges Added to September Arrest

October 23, 2024 – Port Charlotte, FL

A slew of narcotics charges have been added to a September arrest in which a felon shot a gun into his own home from outside, narrowly missing someone inside.

The narcotics charges stemmed from a suitcase found at the scene belonging to Franklin. Following a search warrant, detectives located many baggies of suspected drugs to include cocaine, marijuana, THC wax and lollipops, mushrooms, MDMA, LSD, GHB, heroin, and various pills.

The substances were all tested and received positive results as the narcotics suspected. In total, the amounts seized were:

  • 402g of Cocaine
  • 199g of Phenethylamines (MDMA)
  • 35.4g of LSD
  • 336g of Psilocybin (Mushrooms)
  • 1.2g of Heroin
  • 447g of Marijuana
  • 25 THC Wax units
  • 34 Alprazolam pills
  • 11 Amphetamine & Dextroamphetamine pills

“As I said when we first arrested him, this is not someone who is struggling with addiction. This is someone who is pushing poison on our streets and has no regard for anyone else. Add in the guns and his reckless behavior, and you have all the elements to result in someone being seriously hurt… or worse. I thank my Narcotics Team for their hard work and for putting a stop to this before that happened.”

Under these new charges, Franklin is being held at the Charlotte County Jail with a bond of $318,000.
