Jeffrey Meyer (6/24/86), of Port Charlotte, was arrested on Friday during a Sexual Battery investigation by Detectives with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit. Meyer is a registered Sex Offender, stemming from a 2003 conviction in Illinois.

Deputies responded to an address in Port Charlotte in the early morning hours of March 16th, making contact with the adult female victim who alleged that Meyer forced intercourse on her earlier in the evening. The victim met Meyer through mutual friends several days prior, and had agreed to go to his residence to watch television. During the encounter at his residence, the victim advised he forced himself on her, even after she verbally said no several times. She consented to a physical examination at a local hospital, at which time the Major Crimes Unit (MCU) took over the investigation.
MCU Detectives took statements from the victim, as well as her two friends who had picked her up from Meyer’s residence. Deputies also responded to Meyer’s residence, at which time Meyer agreed to provide a statement to the detectives.
After taking statements from all involved parties, Jeffrey Meyer was arrested and charged with Sexual Battery on a Person 18 Years or Older, and Violation of Probation. He is currently in custody at the Charlotte County Jail.
