Deputy Joshua Muse was recently honored by the Florida Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) with their Life Saving Medal. The medal recognized his efforts to save the life of another driver after observing the man was in need of medical assistance. Deputy Muse, off-duty at the time, came upon a vehicle stopped in the roadway. Deputy Muse stopped to check on the driver, observing him to be unresponsive. Deputy Muse removed the man from the vehicle and performed CPR until EMS arrived on scene.
The Sons of the American Revolution is a patriotic, historical, and educational non-profit organization which values teaching an appreciation of American citizenship. Deputy Muse showed true professionalism and dedication to the citizens he serves by stopping off-duty to aid the driver of the vehicle. His quick action and training was instrumental in saving the man’s life.
Deputy Joshua Muse is currently assigned to the Juvenile Unit as a School Resource Officer. He infuses our core values of Integrity, Professionalism, and Trust in his everyday work with our youth population. We are proud that he is a member of the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office family!
