Members of the Juvenile Unit teamed up on Wednesday (3/20) for an enforcement sweep targeting the sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors. The operation included compliance checks on twelve (12) commercial establishments licensed to sell alcohol and tobacco products throughout Charlotte County. Deputies utilized two investigative aides to check for both alcohol and tobacco compliance in each establishment. All twelve of the establishments checked were in compliance.

Englewood Businesses:
Circle K – 2035 N. Beach Road
Sunoco – 1680 S. McCall Road
Volcano Fine Electronic Cigarettes – 1720 S. McCall Road (tobacco only)
Beach Discount Liquors – 1600 S. McCall Road
Port Charlotte Businesses:
Race Trac – 1520 El Jobean Road
Basia’s Food Mart – 1334 El Jobean Road
Pik N Run – 20101 Peachland Boulevard
Race Trac – 24401 Sandhill Boulevard
7-11 – 330 Kings Highway
Murphy USA – 335 Kings Highway
The King of Vape – 23951 Peachland Boulevard (tobacco only)
Publix Liquor – 24051 Peachland Boulevard
The goal of this enforcement is to curb the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors, and encourage proper checks of identification. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office will continue to work constructively with retail establishments where violations occur to ensure that employees are educated regarding Florida law. Sheriff Bill Prummell urges all individuals to report the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco to law enforcement.
