Juvenile Unit Conducts Checks for Underage Alcohol Sales

Members of the Juvenile Unit teamed up on Friday, August 23rd, for an enforcement sweep targeting the sale of alcohol to minors. The operation included compliance checks on nine (9) commercial establishments licensed to sell alcohol products throughout Charlotte County.

One establishment was found in non-compliance for selling alcohol to a minor:
Gribbles Food Mart, 1334 El Jobean Road (Civil Citation Issued)

Commercial establishments checked that DID NOT sell alcohol to a minor:

The goal of this enforcement is to curb the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors, and encourage proper checks of identification. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office will continue to work constructively with retail establishments where violations occur to ensure that employees are educated regarding Florida law. Sheriff Bill Prummell urges all individuals to report the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco to law enforcement.
