Traffic Stop results in Narcotics Arrests

A Lehigh Acres man and a North Port man were arrested and charged with a variety of narcotics offenses on Tuesday, October 22, 2019. On Tuesday, Deputy Cody Forbus conducted a motor vehicle stop of a silver colored Chevrolet truck operating on Enterprise Drive, Port Charlotte. Both the driver, later identified as being Kevin Pellicciotti, dob 1/4/1991, of Lehigh Acres, Florida and the passenger, Frank Zabotsky, dob 11-9-1990, of North Port, were observed by Deputy Forbus not seating seatbelts as required by law.

At the time of the traffic stop, Deputy Forbus could smell a strong odor of Marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Both were then removed from the vehicle. A large plastic tub was located in the cab of the vehicle and upon closer inspection nine (9) large vacuum sealed bags containing a green leafy substance believed to be Marijuana was found. A further inspection of the vehicle revealed two (2) boxes of Soko Vape cartridges containing THC/Cannabis.

 

Based on the traffic stop and the investigation conducted thereafter, both Pellicciotti and Zabotsky were charged with two (2) counts of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Criminal Conspiracy to Deliver/Distribute Narcotics and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Additionally, Pellicciotti was charged with Unlawful Use of a Two Way Communication Device. Both were subsequently transported to the Charlotte County Jail.

Sheriff Bill Prummell stated that “we will continue to crack down on illegal possession of narcotics in Charlotte County”. “We will also continue to focus our efforts on the illegal possession and distribution of narcotics”.
