From the Desk of Sheriff Prummell
Today is National Senior Citizen’s Day, so I want to take a minute to recognize the seniors in our community.
What makes Charlotte County great is our people… and with over 40% of our population being over the age of 65, it’s no secret that our seniors are a major part of that.
I have had the privilege of meeting many of you throughout my career, and I appreciate each and every one of you. That’s why I personally insisted on the creation of our new Senior Outreach Program.
I want our seniors to know that the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office cares about you, and if you find yourself in a situation where you are living alone or feel like you need an occasional check-in, we’re here for you. Call our Community Affairs office to find out more about this program and others that you may be interested in.
I also respect the experience of our seniors – and encourage those who are able to join our team of volunteers. There is always something happening with the CCSO, and what you bring to our agency is invaluable. You can find the volunteer application on our mobile app or call our Volunteer Coordinator at 941-575-5367.
Thank you for being an integral part of what makes our community so special. It’s my honor to serve as your Sheriff.
