Remembering 9/11

From the Desk of Sheriff Prummell

Today, we reflect back on the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives on that tragic day 19 years ago. We remember the innumerable police officers, firefighters, paramedics, doctors, nurses, and volunteers who responded to the tragedy without hesitation, and the sacrifices they made to do so.

We remember the way our country responded; how we mourned together, then stood together as we demonstrated and emphasized our unity.

Here in Charlotte County, I still see that oneness. Sure, we may have differences on which sports teams we cheer for, which political candidate we support, or which of our incredible selection of restaurants has the best food…but as a community, we are ONE.

I am proud to live and serve here.

God bless Charlotte County, and God bless all who were affected by the events of September 11, 2001, but most importantly, God bless the United States of America!

Be Strong, Be Safe, and Never Quit!
