From the desk of Sheriff Prummell-
Can you believe we’re already four months into 2021? The ball has dropped, Cupid has launched his arrows, we all danced a jig wearing green, and the bunny has come and gone. Time moves quickly.
This week is National Public Safety Telecommunications Week – so I want to make sure that we pause to take the opportunity to recognize the Communications Team at CCSO. Their work is invaluable to this agency and to you, the people we serve. These are the women and men who answer the call when you dial 9-1-1, they direct deputies from a distance, and they save lives through their quick-thinking and prioritization skills.
The Communications Team are very special. They have to have a certain mindset in order to manage the varying calls they receive each and every shift. I’m sure you can imagine the types of things they deal with daily, and how difficult it must be to keep their own emotions in check. Yet they do, and they help those most in need to control their emotions as well, all while coordinating an appropriate response.
Quite literally, this team is the heartbeat of the agency.
I hope you will all join me in simply saying THANK YOU to these incredible people for the work they do to serve the people of Charlotte County…because no matter what time, they will be there for you when you need them.
Happy Public Safety Telecommunications Week!
