October 25 – Port Charlotte, FL
During the early morning hours (approx. 4:30am) of October 23, Charlotte County Deputies responded to a call for service following an armed residential burglary on Camillia Lane in Port Charlotte.
This is an isolated incident and there are no injuries reported at this time.
CCSO Major Crimes Unit is working this ongoing investigation and further details will be provided once they are available.
UPDATE: October 27, 2021
An arrest has been made in this case.
The suspect, a juvenile who resides in North Port, was taken into custody yesterday, October 26, 2021. He is being held at the Department of Juvenile Justice on the following charges:
- Burglary of Dwelling Structure or Conveyance while Armed
- Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon without Intent to Kill
- Grand Theft of a Firearm
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Minor
The suspect was identified through the investigation of the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit. He was taken into custody by the Warrants Division of the CCSO with the assistance of the North Port Police Department.
