CCSO Aviation Unit makes Aerial Fire Magazine Cover

Charlotte County, FL – May 10, 2022

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit takes fire suppression to an exciting new level. Our team of Aviation professionals were recently featured in the Aerial Fire Magazine with an impressive article touting the latest fire suppression feature that was built in-house, ultimately saving the county a substantial amount of money.

“When looking at examples of interagency cooperation, Charlotte County, Florida, has a standard that would make many others jealous. As an aviation unit, Charlotte County’s mission profile is more significant than many more prominent agencies with more aircraft. Yet, somehow, between the county’s Sheriff’s Office, Fire Department, and Mosquito control agency, they still find constant opportunities to better serve the county through their aviation unit,” the article states.

“The Aviation Unit is an essential part of our daily operations. Not only are they tasked with law enforcement roles and long line rescues, but mosquito spraying and fire suppression are a large part of their duties. The team’s dedication to detail and providing the highest level of service to the citizens of Charlotte County is commendable. They are the best of the best, hands down,” Sheriff Prummell proudly states.
