It’s been three weeks since Hurricane Ian devastated Charlotte County. We have sustained a hard blow from mother nature. Many have lost their homes, their personal belongings gone, lives were lost. It has turned our community, our lives, upside down.
As we move forward to rebuild, we must all have patience and resolve. Our strength in mind and body are being tested. Remember that it doesn’t do anyone any good if we fight amongst ourselves. We must look out for and help each other, protect one another, work as one because we are all in this together and together, we are stronger.
I know that things are still looking very bleak right now and some of you are having feelings of despair. They say time can heal all wounds and I can tell you from experience it can, and it does, if you stay focused and determined.
I promise you, we will get through this, we will rebuild, and we will become stronger for it because we are Florida strong, we are Charlotte strong, and no one can take that away from us!
So, Charlotte County be strong, be safe and never quit!
And may God bless all of you.
Thank you Sheriff. You are an inspiration to our community. Blessings to you and all your associates.
