March 9, 2023 – Port Charlotte, FL
For the first time ever, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office will host an Expo event that will highlight some of the great things the agency is doing and grant kids the chance to have fun with their local law enforcement officers.
On Friday, March 24, 2023, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office will welcome community members to engage with deputies and community partners like never before. In partnership with the Port Charlotte Town Center Mall, the free event will take place both in the raised section inside of the food court and in the parking area just outside of the food court. Inside, attendees can find programs information, activities, career and volunteer opportunities, an “Ask a Deputy” booth, and community partner tables. Partners expected to attend include Drug-Free Charlotte County, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies, Charlotte Behavioral Health Care, and even a representative from Nintendo.
In the parking area outside of the food court, attendees can learn all about the various units of the agency and get up close to some of the special vehicles used to help keep our community safe. This will include the SWAT “Bearcat”, a boat from the Marine Unit, patrol cars, and even a CCSO Aviation helicopter. The community is encouraged to ask questions and find out how each unit plays a part in making Charlotte County the best place to live, work, and play.
Additional activities outside will include an inflatable obstacle course for kids, games to play with deputies, and even a dunk tank where kids can have an opportunity to dunk a deputy.
Games include the pictured Topple Tower, cornhole, and more.

Charlotte County Fire/EMS will be also bringing a fire truck and ambulance to display, and other agencies that will be involved include Florida Highway Patrol, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and Peace River Search and Rescue with their K9 companions.
“This event gives us a chance to come together again as a community and make invaluable connections with the people of Charlotte County. It’s going to be a lot of fun, but it’s also going to be a great opportunity to learn about all the ways YOUR sheriff’s office works for YOU. I can’t wait to see everyone there.”
Sheriff Bill Prummell
The first ever CCSO Expo is a free event, scheduled for March 24, 2023, at the Port Charlotte Town Center Mall from 4-7pm.
