On Saturday, March 3rd, at 2:35am, deputies responded to 3212 Port Charlotte Boulevard in reference to multiple reports of gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with two females in front of the residence. The female subjects advised that they had just returned home and while sitting inside their vehicle, a silver SUV drove by the residence. During that time, the female subjects heard multiple gunshots and observed that a bullet struck the vehicle in which they were sitting. Deputies ensured the scene was safe and closed off the roadway to preserve the scene. Deputies observed multiple .223 shell casings on the road in front of the residence, as well as damage to the house, vehicles, and a trailer on the property.
One of the women on scene advised she was involved in a confrontation earlier in the evening with her ex-boyfriend, Aaron Fordham (10/18/1990). She stated that Fordham approached her earlier in the evening in the parking lot of Bowland (3192 Harbor Blvd), pointed a long firearm at her, and stated “I’ll <expletive> kill all of you,” while racking the gun. Both females believed that Fordham was responsible for the shooting.

A neighborhood canvas yielded surveillance video for the SUV in the neighborhood, at which time a license plate number was determined. Deputies responded to 21027 Tucker Avenue, the address of the registered owner, Samantha Hayes, and observed the SUV leaving the residence. Deputies stopped the SUV, and identified the occupants as Samantha Hayes (2/25/94), Devonne Sealey (5/21/81), Aaron Fordham (10/18/90). Spent .223 casings were observed inside the vehicle on the dashboard. The subjects were interviewed separately on their involvement in the incident.
