Nine Explorers from CCSO Post 29 had the opportunity to attend the 2018 March Delegates Meeting and Training sponsored by The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office at Camp Crystal Lake in Starke, Florida.
In total, 12 Posts from The Florida Sheriff’s Explorer Association and over 200 Explorers went camping this past weekend. Explorers had an opportunity to train and compete in Traffic Stop Scenarios (Unknown/High Risk), Building Clearing Scenario, Active Shooting Scenarios and a Physical Training Obstacle Course. Explorers also tested their skills in a high adventure Rope Course, where physical agility was not the only requirement. Team work, communication and trust was key. The Explorer Delegates Meetings also offers opportunities for Post Advisors from various counties in Florida to meet and share ideas in helping prepare our future leaders.
Explorers were able to attend the Delegates Meeting thanks to their Community Service efforts during the year and donations from our Community.
