Sheriff Prummell Signs Up for Drug Free Charlotte County’s Over The Edge Event; Challenges PGPD’s Chief to Fundraising Competition

Sheriff Bill Prummell has just signed up to “Go Over the Edge”  for drug prevention!

Drug Free Charlotte County is hosting the Over the Edge event on April 14th, during which participants will be rappelling off of the Sun Trust building in Port Charlotte while raising funds and awareness for the organization.

The Sheriff’s Office supports Drug Free Charlotte County’s mission to engage and empower our community to prevent substance abuse, specifically in our youth. Passionate about prevention and recovery, the Sheriff launched his Drug Recovery Initiative Program in 2016, focusing on a fresh approach to the problems of drug addiction in our community. Strong partnerships between law enforcement and organizations such as Drug Free Charlotte County build and sustain a healthy community.

Sheriff Prummell has challenged Punta Gorda Police Chief Pamela Davis to a friendly competition to see who can raise more money for the cause.  No matter who wins, Drug Free Charlotte County triumphs!
