Canine Unit Enhances Training with Support from Charlotte Community Foundation
Canines at the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office are learning to use a new piece of equipment - one that can significantly reduce injuries while improving overall mental and physical vitality. The Canine Unit recently purchased a Dog Trotter, best described as a dog powered treadmill, through the Lillian J. Adams Fund for Animal Welfare. The fund, which provides annual support for the CCSO Canine Unit, is administered by the Charlotte Community Foundation.
Investigation into Organized Counterfeiting Concludes with Six Arrests
The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office Economic Crimes Unit has ended a long-term investigation into organized counterfeiting this month. A total of six suspects face charges on various economic crime charges that stemmed from the investigation, which began last October.
Sex Offender Arrested on New Charges During FBI Task Force Investigation
The FBI Fort Myers Child Exploitation Task Force arrested William Henry Thomas (11/26/49), on new charges Thursday. He was previously adjudicated guilty on December 20, 2002 in Charlotte County for Possession of Child Pornography.
