Members of the Juvenile Unit teamed up on Wednesday, July 4th, for an enforcement sweep targeting the sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors. The operation included compliance checks on ten commercial establishments licensed to sell alcohol and tobacco products throughout Charlotte County. All ten of the establishments checked were in compliance.

Antar’s Foodmart, 1002 Tamiami Trail, Punta Gorda
PGI Liquor, 615 Cross Street #1103, Punta Gorda
Publix, 2310 Tamiami Trail, Punta Gorda
USA Grocery, 2390 US 17, Punta Gorda
Circle K, 2035 N. Beach Road, Englewood
Citgo, 1680 S. McCall Road, Englewood
Circle K, 2803 S. McCall Road, Englewood
The goal of this enforcement is to curb the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors, and encourage proper checks of identification. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office will continue to work constructively with retail establishments where violations occur to ensure that employees are educated regarding Florida law.
