Juvenile Unit Conducts Checks for Underage Tobacco Sales

Members of the Juvenile Unit teamed up on Friday (3/15) for an enforcement sweep targeting the sale of tobacco to minors, with a focus on liquid nicotine. The operation included compliance checks on ten (10) commercial establishments licensed to sell tobacco products throughout Charlotte County. All ten of the establishments checked were in compliance.

The Port Charlotte Vape, 3315 Harbor Blvd Unit D
Payless Smoke Shop, 3769 Unit A
City Vapor, 4860 Tamiami Trail
RaceTrac, 4968 Tamiami Trail
Rising Vapors, 3860 N. Tamiami Trail
*all addresses are in Port Charlotte.

The goal of these enforcement sweeps is to curb the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors, and encourage proper checks of identification. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office will continue to work constructively with retail establishments where violations occur to ensure that employees are educated regarding Florida law. Sheriff Bill Prummell urges all individuals to report the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco to law enforcement.
