Timothy Rice Arrested in Texas on New Local Charges

Timothy Rice, a registered sex offender previously residing in North Port, Florida, has been arrested on new charges stemming from an investigation into a series of incidents that occurred in March at the Ann Dever Regional Park Pool in Charlotte County. Timothy Rice was located by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in Texas after our Warrants Unit notified them of the new charges.

Timothy Rice was previously arrested on March 25, 2019, after his behavior at the Ann Dever Regional Park swimming pool caught the attention of parents and yielded several complaints to staff. A registered sexual predator, Rice was charged with Loitering or Prowling by Certain Offenders in Close proximity to Children. Following the publicity of the original arrest, several parents contacted the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office to speak to detectives with the Major Crimes Unit about interactions their children had with Rice at the pool. Interviews with the children determined the interactions involved physical contact with Rice that was sexual or inappropriate in nature. The investigations led to the following new charges:

Lewd/Lascivious Conduct (3 Counts)
Lewd Lascivious Molestation, Victim less than 12 years old (2 Counts)

Timothy Rice was arrested in Jackson County, Texas, on the open warrants. His bond was set at $350,000.
