DeSantis issues executive order directing all restaurants to move to take-out, delivery only; Closure of Fitness Centers

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued an executive order on Friday March 20,2020 directing all restaurants in the state to suspend all dine-in food and alcohol consumption inside establishments. Instead, establishments may continue to operate under a take-out and delivery basis only.

This executive order does not include retail stores that sell sealed containers of alcohol for off-site consumption.

In addition to restaurant and bar changes, DeSantis has also ordered the closure of gyms and fitness centers. This does not apply to hotel amenities operating with a capacity of 10 people or less, residential gyms, inside fire or police departments or located inside any single-occupant office building.

The Department of Business and Professional Regulation has been tasked with enforcing this executive order and shall take necessary measures to protect the public health, safety, and welfare.
