Christmas is nearly here and I, for one, can’t wait. I love those moments when the whole family can get together and enjoy the magic of the holiday. This year, we have so much to celebrate. As we do that, we will also be mindful of how fortunate we are to be able to.
There are many people, even here in our beautiful Charlotte County, that do not have family with whom to gather. There are some who will have no gifts to unwrap or delicious meals to enjoy, despite the best efforts of numerous agencies and organizations in the community. There are many who will not be home for the holidays because they are active members of the armed forces.
I want those people to know that you are in our prayers and on our minds.
In a perfect world, everyone would be able to spend Christmas morning with their loved ones. For those of us who can, I encourage you to treasure those moments. Set aside any differences you may have and just be together as a family. We need more peace in the world. Let it start with you.
