Serial Shoplifting Suspects Apprehended Attempting to Steal Chicken from Walmart

Four women are in custody today on theft charges after they were caught shoplifting a deli chicken and lemonade from Walmart (19100 Murdock Circle) Tuesday. Tamesha Davis (2/11/92), Harneisha Loggins (8/9/96), Tardazia Seay (12/25/95), and Tamara Thomas (5/27/96), are all from Lehigh Acres and are suspects in several thefts in Charlotte County.

An alert employee with loss prevention recognized the women as they entered Walmart on Tuesday, 8/7/18. The loss prevention employee recognized two of the women as suspects in the theft of liquor from the store on 7/31/18 and 8/4/18. The employee contact the Sheriff’s Office and continued to monitor them women’s movement throughout the store. He observed the women walk into the grocery area, pick up deli chicken and a lemonade, pass points of sale without paying, and exit the store – where deputies were waiting.

The women were detained on the retail theft charges. The vehicle, driven by Tamara Thomas, was searched with her permission. During a brief search, Detectives observed a large amount of new clothing from Old Navy and Macy’s. The clothing was neatly folded, not in bags, and still had magnetic security tags attached. The vehicle was sealed as evidence and transported to the CCSO impound lot.

The four women provided statements to Detectives. During the investigation Loggins and Seay were identified as the suspects in the liquor thefts on 7/31 and 8/4 at the Walmart. It was determined that Thomas had provided transportation for each of the thefts. All four women were arrested on retail theft charges for the crimes at Walmart; Davis and Thomas were also charged with Violation of Probation, and Loggins with Violation of Pretrial Release.

Today (Wednesday 8/8/18), Detectives met with Macy’s Loss Prevention at the Port Charlotte Town Center. The loss prevention staff was able to confirm that multiple items inside the suspect’s vehicle were stolen from their store by scanning their unique Macy’s barcode. All four suspects are charged with Grand Theft ($300-$5000) for the crime at Macy’s. Davis and Thomas were also charged with Violation of Probation, and Loggins with Violation of Pretrial Release.
